She is… a rugger! Meet Jessie Rebecca. “I started school at Western State Colorado University in the fall of 2015. This is when I also started playing rugby. It’s an intimidating game, not for the faint of heart. I have played rugby games with a broken nose, two broken hands, and an injured back. But the sport is more about how tough you are. It’s about connecting to and relying on the teammates that become your sisters. It’s about bettering your self, bettering your teammates, and bettering the game. There is so much respect among players and teams. On the pitch we are the greatest of enemies, but off the field we bring each other ice packs, beers, and smiles. I grin and bare it through the pain because the game means so much more than the battle scars. Shout out to Western State Rugby for has forever heightening my passion for fitness, competitiveness, and sacrifice.”
